  The food quality has steadily declined at the Golden Lion; the egg rolls now drip wth grease, so get extra napkins. The almond chicken is saturated in grease and not nice anymore. The fried rice has the same cheap, burnt, greasy taste. My Chinese exchange student couldn't stomach the meat in the beef and broccoli dish. A good friend ordered take out recently and thier whole family felt ill subsequently. Please do yourself a favour and go elsewhere for Asian food. This isn't remotely five stars even in your wildest gutted oil dreams...

  I have this 2 stars because I didn't have to cook or do dishes, the lady on the phone was super nice, and the food was fast and hot. It was medium greasy like mall kiosk food, and fairly tasteless. I had to add soy sauce and chow me in gravy to add flavour to the wonton soup, which my daughters described as "tastes like hot water". I had eaten at the actual restaurant a few years ago and the hotpot was great. The memory of that made me call. I should have got my hubby to drive to Wilkinson, the restaurant there is the best I've found on the island. My tongue is not sizzling so I must assume there is no MSG...if a migraine shows up I'll know otherwise. Sad I wasted $60.00. Won't be going back and these reviews will remind me.
